Oaks Athletic 5 - Dog & Partridge 1

The game started off fairly evenly, with both teams having some possesion.

About 15 minutes into the game the ball dropped to the lively Nathan O'Kiern to be sure. He drilled a low drive into the bottom right hand corner. A good start for Oaks.

About 5 minutes later Jackson collected the ball out on the right, and deftly flicked the ball over two defenders heads in turn. The second defender brought him down poor jackson. There was no doubt about it and the referee gave the correct decision of a penalty. Up stepped Jeffy Archer who walloped it down the centre. 2-0.

A long kick by Oaks Keeper Parker saw the ball bounce awkwardly, with Jackson dummying a knock on header. This allowed Jonny Gay to sprint between two defenders and slot home with a clinical finish. At this stage Oaks were cruising.

One incident involving Dean Wright Rhino headbutting a player off the field of play was quite funny. This Made jackson start on the whole team. No one came to blows though and the game was not really that dirty afterwards.

The second half saw a taller version of D. Allen come ont he park for C. Andrews. K. Horwood was moved into right back from left wing, with D. Kierns pushing out left. After about 5 minutes played the ball fell to Gollum who is becoming a real handful to Sunday league defences. As the ball fell he spun and fired a low drive to the near post. The ball bounced awkwardly for the goalkeeper and somehow it went in! 4-0 to the Oaks.

Dog & Partridge worried the oaks defence after this, with some fine play. They managed to get a goal with a header by someone ginger off a corner. This fired them up a little.

Oaks settled down after this, and a superlative overhead kick by N. O' Kerin put oaks 5-1 up. Directly after this, he got the football in the groin. The match was over by this point, but Oaks were eager to score again, with Jonny Gray missing millions of chances! Results and table here

Well Done lads!

What a great result. Let's carry this winning mentality over to next week!

Would have liked to have seen the overhead kick. Nice one Nathan.

You didn't miss much mate, he fell backwards and the ball hit his knee as he fell back, the ball then went looping up in the air towards goal and the keeper then proceeded to palm the ball into his own net. It was all abit dull really! ha ha
